Subject: Router: SMTP: The server is not responding.
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Error Message
Platform: Linux server - RHEL 5
Release: 8.0.2
Reproducible: Always

I've been looking at our Domaino server that was setup by "experts", and have noticed these messages for EVERY email message going external:
[09667:00014--1910674544] 06/18/2009 08:27:27 AM Router: No messages transferred to MAILGW01 (host MAILGW01) via SMTP: The server is not responding. The server may be down or you may be experiencing network problems. Contact your system administrator if this problem persists.
[09667:00014--1910674544] 06/18/2009 08:27:27 AM Router: Transferring mail to domain MAILGW01 (host MAILGW01 [192.168.40.52]) via SMTP
[09667:00014--1910674544] 06/18/2009 08:27:27 AM Router: Transferred 1 messages to MAILGW01 (host MAILGW01) via SMTP
[09667:00002--1241114080] 06/18/2009 08:27:32 AM Router: Message 007B4723 transferred to MAILGW01 for some_user@externalmail.com via SMTP

As you can see, the message gets handed off to our gateway fine, but why does it display the error message ?

It feels like a configuration error somewhere, I just dont know where. :)
